Cameron Highlands, one of Malaysia's most extensive hill station, also as size of Singapore and where's it name comes from Sir William Cameron, a British surveyor who was commissioned by the then colonial government to map out the Pahang-Perak border area in the 1885. Located in the state of Pahang, approximately 200 kilometres north of Kuala Lumpur (4-hr bus journey) and approximately 90 kilometres from Ipoh (2-hr bus journey).
Cameron Highlands is a beautiful holiday destination and the only place where you can find tea plantations and strawberries in Malaysia. At about 1,500 metres above sea level, it is the highest area on the mainland and enjoys a cool climate and fresh air, with temperatures ranging between 15° and 25° Celsius, perfect place to unwind, get in touch with the nature and to feel breezy & colder weather in Malaysia. Developed in the 1930s, the tableland is one of the oldest tourist spots in Malaysia Apart from its tea estates, the plateau is also noted for its cool weather, orchards, nurseries, farmlands, waterfalls, rivers, lakes, wildlife, mossy forest, golf course, hotels, places of worship, bungalows, Land Rovers, museum and its aborigines.

The next day, I went for the half day activities, with their most famous tour activities at Cameron Highlands, "Jim Thompson Mystery Trail" and "Tea Plantation Tour", which were arranged by Cameron Highlands Resort.
Jim Thompson Mystery Trail
This tour is such a-must tour staying in Cameron Highlands Resort, where I have learned a lot of the mystery disappearance of Jim Thompson. Set in the 1960s, Murder Mystery in the Misty Mountains features Jim Thompson, the legendary American businessman known as the Thai 'Silk King' who mysteriously disappeared while holidaying at the Moonlight Bungalow in Cameron Highlands in March 1967. This exclusive whodunit has been developed specifically for Cameron Highlands Resort, unravelling an exciting plot, which exists nowhere else. Whether for small party on a celebrative weekend in the highlands, a corporate getaway, or a company brainstorming icebreaker, the Signature Murder Mystery in the Misty Mountains Experience makes a fresh and exciting event, bound to invoke raucous bouts of laughter and inspiration.
Jim Thompson Mystery Trail is available daily at 9am and 3pm and approximately two hours of gentle trek and complimentary for Cameron Highlands Resort guests only.

BOH Tea Plantation Tour
No trip to Cameron Highlands would be complete without visiting the local tea plantations. In 1929, John Archibald Russell, who was the son of a British administrative officer started a tea plantation which is now the famous BOH Tea Plantation. Later, other tea plantations were established in Cameron Highlands, namely the Bharat and Blue Valley plantations.
BOH Tea Plantation estate is wonderfully manicured and visitors are welcome to view the factory production process and enjoy a 'cuppa' at the tea shop, part of a new visitors' centre which provides spectacular views of the plantation. The view of tea trees grown on terraces following the contours of the hill will take your breath away.
This activity or tour can be availed at Cameron Highlands Resort together with Gunung Brinchang Trails, which only cost MYR200 nett (S$76).

BOH Tea Plantation House
Boh Tea is the largest producer of tea in Malaysia, based primarily in Cameron Highlands with three large plantations across Ringlet and Brinchang. The main estate sits at Habu in Ringlet next to its immediate neighbour Fairlie Garden, while Sungai Palas is a sister plantation about 20km away in Brinchang.
One of Cameron's favourite tourist attractions, Boh Tea features a colonial-era tea processing factory open to public, shopping gallery, bush walks and open-air cafe that serves light snacks and signature tea. Open daily from 9am to 4.30pm except Mondays (closed), the 7km access route to Boh lies about 3km after Ringlet town or 6km before Tanah Rata along the main road.

The next day in the afternoon, I already checked out and took a bus going to Kuala Lumpur Sentral (4-hr journey) from Cameron Highlands, which only cost S$20, and have flown via Air Asia Airlines from KLIA2 to Singapore, which only cost S$100. And, only after 45-min, I reached Singapore. However, you can try an alternative route, flying from Ipoh (Sultan Azlan Shah Airport) to Singapore.
After a 3 day 2 nights stay and as an Avid Traveler who has been to a lot of luxury hotels, "The Cameron Highlands Resort" totally exceeds my expectations. My stay in this hotel is one of my top favorites. I can't wait to come back to this luxury resort and for it is my "Home", once again when I want to relax, unwind and have a great weekend getaway at Cameron Highlands. It has excellent service, an excellent hotel, and for me, the one and only decent hotel after I've toured around the Cameron Highlands.

I am bringing my family to Las Vegas next year, but I'm finding it rather difficult to identify a hotel that can accommodate five in one room. Most seem to have a maximum of four, even though they say they're family friendly.
The bigger complication is that a room that has two queen size beds would be fine for us, but most of these hotels have issues with the number of occupants; do you think we'd be alright just booking a quad room and turning up with five?
Any suggestions would be welcome, especially from families who've been there!
