"The Sanchaya Bintan" (Indonesia) Definitely One of the Best Luxury Resorts in ASIA

The Sanchaya Bintan

Bintan is an Indonesian island in the Riau Archipelago in the South China Sea.  It is  Indonesia's second most popular tourist destination after Bali. The Sanchaya is located 10 minutes away from Bandar Bentan Telani, Bintan’s main ferry terminal and can also be accessed by Sri Bintan Pura Ferry Terminal at Tanjung Pinang. Direct domestic flight connections are available daily from Jakarta to Tanjung Pinang Airport. Bintan is located 45 minutes by high-speed ferry from Singapore’s Tanah Merah Ferry Terminal, which only costs S$70 (return) on weekends and S$58 (return) on weekdays.

After a 45-minute ferry ride from Singapore, I arrived at the Bandar Bentan Telani Ferry Terminal in Bintan. The Sanchaya has its own exclusive VIP Lounge for all arrivals and departures I was able to avoid the long Immigration queue. The Sanchaya's Lounge is amazing and has a really top-notch service in an elegant relaxing atmosphere.

The Sanchaya is a private estate set on the prime northern coast of Bintan Island and will form a part of a wider development project for Lagoi Bay and its surroundings, which will add private residences, hotels, and private estates, commercial spaces, a golf course, and an international airport, in addition to the existing domestic airport on the island. Each villa and suite has its own unique style, reflecting the rich culture, history, and art of the region.  Influenced by its rich colors, variety of flavors, and exotic sights and sounds of South East Asia and its rare and incomparable terrain, the very best elements are harmoniously blended together in the individual personalities of the villas and suites.

A warm welcome from The Sanchaya Staff

The Sanchaya has a bespoke collection of 21 villas and 9 suites which you can check out on www.thesanchaya.com. And, among all their amazing villas and suite,  it was the Great House Verandah Sea View suite that costs USD$1,275 per night (tax and service included)  that I stayed.

The following is included in the room rate:
  • Express immigration upon arrival and departure at The Sanchaya’s dedicated VIP Lounge in Bintan
  • Complimentary shuttle service between Bintan Resorts Ferry Terminal and The Sanchaya
  • A refreshing welcome drink on arrival
  • A sumptuous a la carte breakfast in The Dining Room in the Great House, overlooking the pool and Beach
  • Complimentary fresh fruit replenished daily
  • Complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the Estate
  • Daily turndown
  • Butler Service (trained by British Butler Institute)
  • Complimentary Maxi bar (snacks, beer, and soft drinks) replenished daily
  • Free local calls
  • Espresso machine and a selection of fine teas in your villa or suite

The Sanchaya's restaurants include The Dining Room for all-day dining and the poolside Tasanee Grill serving Bangkok street cuisine in a beach setting where guests can enjoy afternoon tea and learn about the special blends of tea available in the resort. After enjoying my suite, I decided to have lunch in The Dining Room and truly enjoyed it.

During at night, I enjoyed watching movies and of course, my most favorite thing to do when staying in a hotel – to enjoy a bubble bath.

The next morning, I had a fantastic view of the beach from the room, and totally fell in love with the Sanchaya Bintan

In the afternoon, I tried their Sanchaya Signature Massage, which only cost USD160++ for a 105-minute SPA Treatment.  This includes a foot cleansing ritual, and a body massage using warm volcanic stones.  I felt so totally relaxed.  It was absolutely one of the best SPA treatments that I have ever tried in a luxury hotel.

Root Chakra Oil is the best!

Among the eight presented scents, it's the first or Root Chakra Oil that I chose

After 2 days 1 night stay at Sanchaya Bintan, I really had an amazing stay! With a lot of luxury resorts that I have been to, this must be one of the best properties.
