Waverley Station Edinburgh Scotland

I left my heart in Edinburgh...that's exactly what I felt after leaving this beautiful and amazing city of Edinburgh for staying here for months during my Business trip in United Kingdom! From the beautiful view in Arthur's Seat to my amazing traditional Scottish breakfast at The City Cafe to watching football at Pear Tree House and of course, the Scottish people who are friendly and nice...I really fell in love with Edinburgh!

From London I travelled to Edinburgh Scotland by train and only after 4 hours, I finally arrived in Waverly Train Station Edinburgh where lots of beautiful preserved buildings, monuments, churches, roads...few to mention. So, here's my Top 20 Most Amazing Places to Visit & Things to Love in Edinburgh!

1. Old Royal Mile
The heart of Edinburgh's Old Town. Old Royal Mile is where a lot of beautiful and amazing monuments, restaurants, cafes, pubs, street performers and churches you can find to. And, a few minutes walk from the luxury hotel where I stayed...Radisson Blu Edinburgh!

2.  Tron Kirk Church (CLOSED as of 2nd Quarter 2018)
Where I had an amazing time shopping souvenirs from retail to clothing to hand-made local jewelries as well as had an amazing tour Highland Experience and Ghost & Torture Tour.

3. Breakfast at The City Cafe
Staying here for months and having breakfast at different local cafes, pubs and restaurants...I can say that The City Cafe have the Best Scottish Breakfast in a very affordable price of GBP6 only.

4. The Black Medicine Coffee (Harry Potter Book Fan)
An old Nicolson's cafe former cafe where JK Rowling famously wrote part of her first Harry Potter book is now The Black Medicine Coffee. A corner of Nicolson and Drummond Street famous for the location where J.K Rowling wrote first the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone where I always visit and drink coffee.

5. Calton Hill
Do NOT leave Edinburgh without visiting this beautiful hill. From Royal Mile, this is only 10-15 minute walk thru the North Bridge. The view from here is fantastic and I, myself, cannot count how many times I visited here every time I arrived in Edinburgh.

6. Edinburgh Castle
One of the most amazing and historical castles that you need to visit in whole UK. Coming here is just so easy if you are already in Royal Mile, as this is only a 10-minute walk from Royal Mile. A lot of people visit here so, make sure that you will come here earlier so, you will avoid the long queue and the entrance fee is only GBP16.50 for adults.

7. The HUB
On the way to Edinburgh Castle and at the top of Edinburgh's Royal Mile, there's a church building called The Hub which is now being used for a central source of information on all the Edinburgh Festival.

8. Princess Street Garden
Princes Street where it's known as a shopping street and along this busy street,  there is a quiet and nice garden where you can read a book, lay down in the grass and just relax. This is one of the favorite spots in Edinburgh where I always go.

9. The Princes Street
Simply known as the shopping street of Edinburgh. A must-visit too in Edinburgh where you can totally enjoy shopping and also just a 10-minute walk from the hotel where I stayed too, Hotel Ibis Style Edinburgh St. Andrew.

10. The Scott Monument
The Scott Monument is a Victorian Gothic monument to Scottish author Sir Walter Scott. It is the largest monument to a writer in the world. It's just along Princes Street and can be seen from the Princes Street Garden. The amazing tall monument that you should not miss visit in Edinburgh.

11. The Grassmarket
Like in Royal Mile, Grassmarket has a lot of restaurants, cafes and boutiques too. A lot of people come here too. Each Saturday from 10am to 5pm a lot of food, sweet treats, fresh fruits and vegetables and even cooked food are being sold here.

12. Edinburgh Farmer's Market
Weekly outdoor farmers' market with area-sourced produce, meats & cheeses, plus baked goods and beers and located near Edinburgh Castle.

13. Cockburn Street
An amazing and beautiful street in Edinburgh's Old Town. Created as a serpentine link from the Royal Mile to Waverley Train Station where nicest cafes, shops, restaurants are located too.

14. Waverley Train Station
Waverley Train Station is the nearest station you can access to the Old City of Edinburgh and from here there is actually a mall called Waverely Mall...home to independent retailers and mainly high street chain stores as well as large food court but has an amazing view of Edinburgh old city!

15. The Balmoral Hotel
There is no way that you will NOT notice this beautiful, amazing and historical hotel when you arrived at Waverley Train Station in Edinburgh. This luxury hotel is just 2-minute walk from the Waverley Train Station. Though, I was not able to stay here but this hotel is a must-see in Edinburgh.

16. The Scottish National Gallery
The Scottish National gallery is the national art gallery of Scotland. It is located on the Mound of central Edinburgh. In a neoclassical building designed by William Henry Playfair, and first opened to the public in 1859 and one of the amazing places you must visit in Edinburgh.

The Queen's Gallery is an art gallery which was opened in 2002 by Queen Elizabeth II and exhibits works from the Royal Collection. It is open to the public daily with an entrance fee of GBP16.90.

18. Arthur's Seat
Who wouldn't want to see the entire Edinburgh? Absolutely in Arthur's Seat you will see how amazing the Edinburgh is!

19. Great Highland Bagpiper
Your Edinburgh Travel Experience is incomplete if you will not hear the music from a Great Highland Bagpiper. This is one of the cultures that I really admired from the Scottish People. The Great Highland Bagpipe is a type of bagpipe native to Scotland. A lot of them you can actually see in Edinburgh every single day, especially in Royal Mile Street.

20. Pear Tree House
This is where I really enjoyed watching football during the UEFA EURO 2016! This garden beer pub has an amazing outdoor big TV screen where you can enjoy watching games as well indoor TV screens. With almost hundreds of people watching every time I was here it was really entertaining.

So, if you are going to ask me if I still wanted to come back in Edinburgh Scotland? Absolutely!
