Anantara Veli Maldives, a Picturesque Travel Destination!

Maldives...the first word that you will think when someone will ask you if you know this travel destination, "Paradise" and perhaps the second word that you will think is "Expensive". Yes! As a Traveler who just stayed there for 3 days 2 nights to one of the most beautiful resorts in Maldives, Anantara Veli, I definitively agreed that it is indeed a paradise and expensive but made the Maldives as my most memorable and "epitome of my travel journey", yet so far...

Anantara Veli Maldives

From Singapore, I flew via Tigerairways. Tigerairways offers a cheap flight going to Maldives that only cost S$400++ (USD$300).  After 4 hours and 20 mins. flight travel from Singapore, we arrived in Male Airport, Maldives. Upon our arrival, representatives from Anantara Veli were already waiting and escorted us to their Exclusive Group Lounge where free drinks and wi-fi offered to guests.

Maldives has about 1,200 islands, separated into a series of coral atolls, with only 200 of the islands are inhabited. Among all the atols, it is the Anantara Veli, located at south male atol, we chose to stay. Speed boat transfers can cost USD$180.00/per person (2-way) from Male airport to Anantara Veli. After 30 mins. of fun and joy ride in speedboat with other guests,  we arrived in Anantara Veli. Upon arrival, a warm welcome extended to us by the staff and our Deluxe over-water bungalow were ready. And, the view from the bungalow was fantastic and picturesque!

Deluxe-Over Water Bungalow in Anantara Veli cost USD$937.00 nett per room per night but the room was certainly amazing and totally worth-it. Here some of the photos I took of Anantara Veli picturesque resort using only iPhone5s.

My Favorite Spot!!!

What an amazing sunset in Maldives!

At night, we had our dinner at 73 Degrees Restaurant which offers a lot of varieties of food from Italian, Seafood and Asian Food. Dinner/Half Board meal costs USD$100 (nett) for buffet excluding  drinks which can cost around USD$10 for 1 bottle of water or 1 glass of iced lemon tea.

The next day, I woke up as early as 6am to catch the sunrise. Though I was not able to catch it but still, the view from the bungalow amazed me.

Right after, we headed to 73 Degrees Restaurant for our buffet breakfast which is already complimentary or included.

On our second night, we decided to have a  Japanese dinner at Origami Restaurant which  also cost around USD$100/nett per person excluding drinks but the food was amazingly good.

On our last day, we spent  swimming and taking selfies! haha!

Total Costing: USD$2,854.00
(Including Food, Fare and Resort stay)

Breakdown of Costing:

Airfare via Tigerairways (2-way) =USD$300
Boat Transfer = USD$180/per person (2-way)
Anantara Veli - USD$937 x 2 nights = USD$1,874 for 2 nights
Food - USD$500 (Buffet Breakfast is FREE of charge)
Breakdown: USD$100 = Lunch  (Day 1)
                       USD$100=  Dinner (Day 1)
                       USD$100=  Lunch  (Day 2)
                       USD$100=  Dinner (Day 2)
                       USD$100=  Lunch  (Day 3)

However, for those who are really keen to go to Maldives, here's what I can suggest to all of you.

1. Plan ahead and make sure that you are willing to spend in Maldives! However, if you are on a tight budget and just wanted to see Maldives but not to feel the luxury of it...there is an island called "Maafushi Island" where cheap accommodation offers.

2. As Maldives can be your most beautiful beach that you will see, perhaps before you go to Maldives at least you have already been to the best local beaches like Boracay (where I have been more than 10x already), El Nido Palawan, Panglao Beach in Bohol, etc...or best beaches in Phuket, Krabi, Bali, Kota Kinabalu, few to mention...As, how would you compare how amazing Maldives if you have not been to many beaches. One of my good friends told me, "I went to Maldives, and ever since I have a high expectations going  to any beach resort."

3. Maldives is a prestige travel destination so, avoid taking photos of other people especially honeymooners who are in the same resort as you. They did not travel for a thousand miles to be in Maldives just to be in an ordinary beach resort.

4. Lastly, Go to Maldives and enjoy every single minute of being there! Take a lot of pictures!

Definitely, it's the most amazing, beautiful, lovely and recommended villa where you stayed. Maldives is a picturesque island, indeed.

I am in love with the color of the water, looks so inviting. I would love to wake up in one of those villas with the reflection of the water on the ceiling and then take a pre-breakfast dip. Just added to the top of my travel wish list.

Undoubtedly among the best reasons to visit Maldives will be the laid-back time on the beaches without any trace of littering, but the vast bluish green Indian Ocean kissing the horizon.
